The LACATF supports the training and the continued education of animal control agency staff, law enforcement and animal-welfare organizations. LACATF makes efforts to educate local parish and city governments on effective state and local animal laws and ordinances, policies, and modern sheltering practices.
The LACATF supports education and training of animal control agency personnel on the Best Practices of Animal Shelters and the areas recognized by the National Animal Care & Control Association (NACA) and the Louisiana Animal Control and Care Association. Those areas include:
- Animal Control Officer Training
- Shelter Management and Staff Education
- Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Planning
